Till the Last Breath – Durjoy Datta

Yes, another one by Durjoy Datta.

Storyline:- there are 4 characters all of who start separately but eventually get together with the story and their lives change forever after that.

Dushyant is an alcoholic and an addict. Pihu is one of the most intelligent and brilliant minds. They both are brought together in the room no. 509 of GKL hospital but wait, there is no love story between them. It starts with the entry of Dr. Arman Kashyap, who is going to treat Pihu and will have to make some big decisions, and Zarah, who will be Dushyant’s doctor and is herself struggling with her past.

My opinion: I loved this book! Even though I did not have a very good experience with Durjoy Dutta’s World’s best boyfriend, I gave this one a try and I am so glad I did. This book is not just a bubbly love story of college students, it is so much more; emotions, struggle, tough decisions, sacrifices and what not. I can personally relate to this book on some aspects so my opinion can be a little biased.

This book shows you how hard life can be but you still have to keep smiling and keep a positive attitude.

I think everyone should read this book as it gives you a new perspective to life and the story is just so good. Trust me, this book will leave you in tears.

Book Review

World’s Best Boyfriend – Durjoy Datta

Since this is the first book I ever read so why not start with it.

Why did I choose this book:- I was just starting to read novels and I wanted to start with something easy and straightforward. Plus choosing an Indian writer made sure that I wouldn’t have any problem in understanding the culture and language wouldn’t be a barrier either.

What the books is about:- this book revolves around two main characters  , Dhruv and Aranya, who have a love-hate relationship. They want to hurt each other the most and yet can’t stay away from each other. Aranya is smart and intelligent while Dhruv is rude and arrogant.  Somewhere deep inside they know they love each other but they are constantly fighting their feelings.

You will understand the storyline better if you have ever heard of or watched the show ‘Sadda Haq’ on channel V (it’s been off-air since so long) minus the women empowerment factor. The relationship mentioned is literally the same.

My opinion:- As I mentioned earlier, this was my first book so I wasn’t expecting anything. I somewhat liked the story at that time but it was quite unbelievable. Even though the story is largely based upon college life, an average college goer cannot relate to it.

Now if I think about it, I guess I enjoyed the first half of the story but afterwards I was merely finishing the book for the sake of it.

Likes- Aranya has vitiligo and I like the way Durjoy Dutta has shown the problems she had to face and how it wasn’t a factor for her anymore.

The love-hate relationship between Dhruv and Aranya does seem interesting sometimes.

There are several twists in the story that can intrigue your interest.

Dislikes- A lot of things seemed repetitive as the story went on.

You lose interest as it progresses; it starts to get a little boring.

I felt that the ending was too cliché.

Not at all based on how Indian college life really is.

Overall, I don’t hate the book. If you are also starting a reading habit like I was you can go for it, but if you are a regular reader and have read some real good literature, I don’t think you’re gonna wanna read it. I will only recommend it if you are in that phase when you like romantic stories and like to fantasize about all that.
